2012 Brewer’s Ball to Benefit Cystic Fibrosis Foundation – Sept. 8

Charlotte Brewer's BallThe only thing better than enjoying good, local beer is doing so for a good cause. Please consider purchasing 2012 Brewer’s Ball tickets in support of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, and list Charlotte Beer as a ticket captain so they know where you heard about the event.

The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation’s  Charlotte Chapter will host “Brewer’s Ball” at 6:30 p.m. on Sept. 8 at Olde Mecklenburg Brewery. At the Brewer’s Ball, guests can enjoy a wide variety of beer and food from local breweries and restaurants. Tickets for this event are $75, with all proceeds being used to fund the life-saving work of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. Cystic Fibrosis affects the lungs and digestive system of 30,000 children and adults in this nation alone. Make sure to buy your 2012 Brewer’s Ball tickets before they sell out, as this event is limited to around 250 guests.

In addition to the beer and food samples, Brewer’s Ball will also feature a silent auction that will include “beer-themed goodies,” such as restaurant gift certificates. I’m going to root through my personal cellar in hopes I can find a nice bottle or two to donate.

The Brewer’s Ball has been held by the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation’s Metro DC chapter for the past seven years. Last year, two board members transferred from the Metro DC chapter to the Charlotte chapter and suggested that Charlotte might be a good fit for another Brewer’s Ball.

“The response we have received so far from brewers, restaurants, active volunteers and even those who have never heard of CF has been phenomenal,” said Dede Brand, the development manager of Charlotte’s chapter. “The local craft beer scene is obviously booming!”

Each brewery and restaurant will serve samples of 2-3 items for the 200-250 guests in attendance.
