Four Friends Brewing Shuts Down

In a recent Facebook post, Four Friends Brewing — which opened in Charlotte in 2010 — announced they were shutting down operations effective April 30, 2014:

With heavy hearts and sad eyes, Four Friends Brewing bids a fond farewell to the Queen City. We have closed our doors for operations as of April 30, 2014. Please help us appreciate and THANK the many wonderful local businesses that have shown us support over the past 4 years. Visit these cool places and order what will be the final glasses of 4FB product on the planet. Thank you Common Market, VBGB Beer Hall & Garden, Midwood Smokehouse, Joe Hooper’s Beverage and Sandwich Exchange,Taco Mac Sports Grill, Blackthorne Restaurant & Bar, CharBar No. 7, The Brickhouse Tavern, The Wine Shop at Rivergate, Queen City Q, Charlotte- Jocks and Jills, and Carolina Beer Temple, Custom Home Pubs,Kristophers Sports Bar & Restaurant, World of Beer – South End and Harry’s Grille & Tavern.

The brewery listed the entire operation for sale as a turnkey brewery on in March. I reached out to co-founder Jon Fulcher when he was trying to negotiate the sale, however he did not want to comment at that time. I’ll have more information if and when it is available.

  1. Mostly Serious says:

Anyone want to front me $400k? I promise you will never be thirsty again.

    • considering Capital needed to produce products, rename, reboot, hire do PR, this company will be lucky to garner 100 K….there’s also no canning equipment, very necessary in today’s market

  2. Has anyone purchased this equipment yet? I would be interested to see what someone else can do with it

    • I’m really not sure. I know there were a lot of breweries aiming to do so, but I believe Jonathan wanted to keep everything together if he could. Then again, he was trying to sell the equipment along with the brand and recipes as one big package, and I don’t think that ever went through.
