Don’t let the name fool you: though half of the building is devoted to wine, Vintner Wine Market in the Arboretum shopping center is one of the best places to grab a craft beer in Charlotte. They have hundreds of bottles in stock and offer six-pack discounts of 10% if you pay with credit and 15% if you pay with cash or a debit card. Vintner Wine Market also has over 25 canned craft beers, and they give out koozies to anyone who purchases a six-pack of canned beers.
If you’d prefer to pull up a stool and have a drink with the regulars that are often in, Vintner Wine Market also has 16 taps: four are usually devoted to their “core four,” four more are devoted to North Carolina breweries, and the rest are devoted to an everchanging selection of excellent craft beers.
Head chef and manager Grant Denton prides himself on using local ingredients in Vintner’s kitchen, which turns out more artisan alternatives to bar food in the form of their flatbreads, sandwiches and signature bar snacks. Prefer something sweeter? Don’t miss the Secret Chocolatier truffles.
Vintner has a small patio out front, and if you’re into cigars Tinder Box is right next door. Actually, they’re going to be right next door whether you like cigars or not.
