Craft Beer at Bank of America Stadium

New Carolina Panthers LogoThe Panthers haven’t played up to many fans’ expectations this season, but at least you can find a nice selection of craft beers on tap at Bank of America stadium.

If you’re headed to a home game, please grab a local craft beer from one of the breweries below. Support your team, support your local breweries.

•NoDa Brewing will pour Ramble on Red, Monk’s Trunks, Woody & Wilcox IPA and the award-winning Coco Loco in sections 118 & 518.

•Olde Mecklenburg Brewery will have Copper and Captain James Jack Pilsner in sections 102, 118, 125 & 502, 523, 534.

Foothills Brewing Beers at Carolina Panthers Games

Panthers Foothills BrewingThis season, you’ll see new faces like Cam Newton, Greg Olsen and Jeremy Shockey in Bank of America Stadium — but more importantly, you’ll also now find beers from Foothills Brewing. The Winston-Salem brewery will have four beers available in the stadium this year, starting as early as this Saturday’s Fan Fest.

At the stadium this year, you’ll be able to enjoy Foothills’ Torch Pilsner, Salem Gold Blonde, Hoppyum IPA and People’s Porter. Exact locations haven’t been determined, but there should be one tap location on the 100 level and two tap locations on the 500 level according to Jamie Bartholomaus, the brewery’s president and brewmaster.

Though nearby Carolina Beer Company was recently purchased by Foothills Brewing, all of these beers will still be produced at Foothills in Winston-Salem. Foothills also sells beers at the Durham Bulls stadium in Durham and the RBC Center in Raleigh.

You can also find Skull Coast and Olde Mecklenburg beers are Bank of America stadium.

Foothills Sexual Chocolate Release – Jan. 29

Foothills Brewing

You might think it’s a stretch for a Charlotte beer blog to cover a beer release that takes place in Winston-Salem, but anyone who has ever had a sip of Foothills Sexual Chocolate knows that the hour-plus drive is a small price to pay for a few bottles of this award-winning imperial stout.

I and many other beer geeks in Charlotte headed north this past Saturday, Jan. 29, when Foothills released its highly-coveted Sexual Chocolate. As the name implies, this beer has chocolate flavor in spades, but it also has a near-perfect bitterness to match.

If you weren’t able to drag yourself from Charlotte to Winston-Salem in the early morning Saturday, then look for this beer in Charlotte-area bars. It will likely appear and disappear as quickly as Bell’s Hopslam recently did, so keep your eyes out!

Follow me on Twitter (@CharlotteBeer) and I’ll do my best to let you know which Charlotte beer bars will be tapping the Sexual Chocolate. And don’t forget — Valentine’s Day is only a couple week’s away!
